Grant Ferguson and Maria Carreon
Agel's 13th Diamond Directors
Grant and Maria are living proof that Agel changes lives. And though Grant Ferguson and Maria Carreon are no strangers to prosperity and living the privileged life, it wasn't long ago that the two were perhaps too familiar with barely getting by.
Prior to meeting one another, Grant and Maria lived parallel lives of wealth, each owning homes and exotic cars and traveling to dozens of countries around the globe. At one point Grant lived on a private island, living semi-retired and filling his days with sailing and speed boating. Maria enjoyed a similar success, making over 2 million dollars in a previous network marketing company.
However, for both, their worlds seemed to come came crashing down all at once. For Maria, it came after a thriving 15-year stint in network marketing. Due to a change in her personal life she was forced to sell her network-marketing business and live off the residual income, which lasted her a couple years. But she soon found herself broke. Meanwhile Grant admittedly made a number of poor investment choices and his financial world soon collapsed too. And without capital to start a new traditional business, Grant turned to network marketing, where he joined a stable company and earned enough to just scrape by, which wasn't his idea of a thriving network marketing business.
When Grant and Maria finally met, they were both struggling to stay afloat: no house, massive debt, no car, and not a penny of savings. Just to pay the bills, Maria applied for a part-time job at a fast food chain and Grant scrambled to make ends meet under a heavy debt load.
When they heard about Agel, they were living in a friend's garage, in Los Angeles, California, struggling to build a business in another network marketing company. When they learned what Agel had to offer, they decided it was time for a change and that Agel was the opportunity they had been looking for.
In order to get themselves to Salt Lake City, they had to borrow money and a car.
After that first fateful meeting with Glen Jensen in September 2006, they knew their lives were about to change. They borrowed money from Grant's father in order to purchase a $2,000 Buick automobile and headed to Mexico to start their Agel business. They worked nonstop, day and night, giving presentations to whoever would listen.
"I think I know every table in every Starbucks, VIPS and Sanborns in the entire country!" said Grant.
Grant and Maria knew the key to success was being a "sponsor monster." Together they had a resolute "why" and that was to regain their lives — and nothing was going to stop them in their quest to create more options in their lives again.
The Mexico market opened in May 2007 and in that first month they enrolled over 600 distributors at the executive level. And a few months later they were announced as Agel's thirteenth Diamond Directors.
"Agel gave us our financial lives back," said Maria. "I have lived with money and without money and I tell you, living with money makes life easier as it gives you options and the means to live your dreams. And with Agel, we are finally living our dreams again."
Grant is beginning to enjoy his old activities again, which include mountain biking, diving, squash, mountain climbing and world traveling. He takes FLX, his favorite product, in order to stay young and flexible enough to enjoy his extreme sports for decades to come.
While Grant has plans to kite surf around the world, Maria plans to stay dry on the beach and write a book about her wonderful and adventurous life as a professional network marketer.
"I am passionate about this business," said Maria. "I am dedicated to achieving my dreams and helping others achieve their dreams. I am convinced that it doesn't matter what you do now, what your personal situation is, what your age is, or your profession; network marketing can transform your life, convert your wildest dreams into realities and help you discover that you really are a diamond."
Of course, they attribute their success in part to their vision and persistence, but the majority of their success, they say is due to the teamwork and dedication of their team members.
"Without our team, we wouldn't be where we are today," said Grant and Maria.
They also say they could retire today with a very healthy residual income but they feel they are just getting warmed up.
According to Zach Bradley, Director of Mexico, Grant and Maria are two of the hardest working and most caring people he has ever had the privilege of working with and it is obvious there is nothing they wouldn't do for their team.
"We have a commitment to our team members to help them reach their goals and dreams," said Grant and Maria. "When our team members are up on stage as Diamonds, that is when we will feel that we have accomplished our mission with Agel... and besides, we're having just too much success and too much fun to stop now!"
