Each year the AgelCares Foundation honors an individual who most exemplifies the ideal that one person really can make a difference in the world by providing leadership, love and compassion to those in need. We call it the “Hero of the Year” award.
Last year we honored Ms. Teri Katz of Denver, Colorado for her courageous work with the Brio Dream Home for Children in Brazil. Teri was honored at AgelWorld and presented a plaque, the twin of which is on display at Agel’s Corporate Headquarters (see here).
This year we are going to ask YOUR help in selecting our AgelCares Hero of the Year. And it starts by choosing a “Hero of the Year” Nominee from among four worthy candidates.
The first candidate is David Benaim of Mexico City. David organized a Walk-a-thon in Mexico City that attracted more than 100 participants and raised more than $5,000 USD for AgelCares. He also helped Agel Diamond Directors Jaime and Sara Lokier, Gabriela Fernandez, Franscisco and Denain Escobedo, and the rest of the “Puebla Team” to organize an AgelCares event for the Casa Asis Orphanage in Puebla, Mexico. Agel Corporate Executives, including Agel President Scott Bocklund and Executive VP of AgelCares Mica Moseley, also attended with fellow Mexican Diamonds Rodrigo and Juan Carlos Garduño, and Double Diamond Directors Alberto and Dafne Zirlinger along with more than 100 other Mexican Team Members to build a playground, basketball courts, volleyball courts, repaint and donate operating costs to the orphans. In all, more than USD $2,000 were donated.
